Christofle unveils Malmaison Riviera, a radiant summer reinterpretation of the iconic Malmaison and Malmaison Impériale collections. Inspired by the brilliance of the Mediterranean coastline, this new porcelain service captures a vibrant art of living that is relaxed, sun-drenched, and unmistakably chic.

Designed for everyday moments as well as convivial gatherings, Malmaison Riviera brings to the table the promise of sharing, lightness, and warm, golden memories.

Malmaison, a symbol of Christofle

For over a century, the Malmaison collections have been a cornerstone of the Maison Christofle, balancing classical elegance with contemporary sensibility.

Malmaison, named after the Château de Malmaison, the residence of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Joséphine, embodies the refined codes of the Empire style. Its symmetrical motifs of palmettes and water leaves are emblematic of Christofle’s craftsmanship and enduring sense of proportion. Introduced in silverware and later extended into fine porcelain, the collection has adorned the most prestigious tables since the early twentieth century.

Malmaison Impériale, launched in 2022, modernised these historic ornamental codes.

Palmettes bloom at the centre of plates, while rosettes introduce a rhythmic, graphic play across porcelain services, tea and coffee sets, and table accessories that are designed to be mixed, matched, and composed with elegance.

This new Malmaison Riviera reinterprets the refined and timeless codes of Christofle's Malmaison collections, with a free-spirited and sun-drenched approach.

Malmaison Riviera follows naturally in the footsteps of these iconic collections, while introducing a new expression of freedom and colour.

For the first time, colour becomes the defining element. A deep, natural yellow, reminiscent of Mediterranean light, illuminates each piece, appearing almost watercolour-like in its vibrancy and warmth. Hand-drawn motifs unfold across the porcelain, capturing the radiance of summer tables and the poetry of sunlit moments.

This new chapter reinterprets the timeless Malmaison codes with a free-spirited intention, designed as much for relaxed daily use as for elegant entertaining.

A collection with solar accents

Comprising around fifteen pieces in fine porcelain, Malmaison Riviera offers a complete service for every ritual, from breakfast to dinner. Plates, bowls, serving platters, mugs, tea and coffee cups, and a cake stand come together in a harmonious visual composition, with ornamental motifs responding to one another through rhythm and symmetry.

Certain pieces stand beautifully on their own, whether for a solitary morning coffee, an afternoon tea by the pool, or an aperitif as the sun sets. Malmaison Riviera accompanies every moment associated with the pleasures of summer.

Silver-plated table jewels, including napkin rings, knife rests, place card holders, and coasters, complete the Malmaison silverware universe. They create a luminous dialogue between the brilliance of silver and the solar yellow of the porcelain.

Riviera as a setting, the Riviera as a state of mind

The collection was presented at the Château de la Croix des Gardes, perched above Cannes and overlooking the Mediterranean. This Florentine-inspired estate, imagined in the 1920s, embodies the French art of living and the festive spirit of the Belle Époque. Surrounded by cypress trees, lavender, mimosa, and jasmine, the château offered a sunlit, confidential setting that perfectly reflected the spirit of Malmaison Riviera.

A radiant Art de Vivre

Malmaison Riviera brings to the table a holiday feeling, a relaxed sophistication, and an exhilarating promise of sharing. Each piece appears to capture the Mediterranean sun, illuminating tables, conversations, and everyday rituals with warmth and elegance.
