Christofle - AW23 Babylone collection

A mythical name, associated with some of the most beautiful hanging gardens in the world. Depicted by writers, glorified by poets, and illustrated by painters, the legent of Babylone is alive and well in Paris.

Rue de Babylone, on the Rive Gauche, has been one of the French capital's most popular streets since the 17th century. The perfect embodiment of the city's "art de vivre," and a favourite of designer Aurélie Bidermann, Rue de Babylone is symbolised by elegant dinner parties, sophisticated arts, cultural events, and festivities among family or friends.

In its Babylone, Christofle has teamed up with the artist Aurélie Bidermann to create sparkling silver tableware, decorative pieces and jewellery. Its new Babylone Collection is characterised by sumptuous yet streamlined curves inspired by plump, brioche-style braids, as well as classic and minimalist designs. A reinvented legend, with eye-catching luster.

Designed by Aurélie Bidermann, the Babylone Collection incorporates all the values that Christofle holds dear: a sophisticated "art de vivre" bridging classicism and modernity, the expertise of France's greatest silversmiths, and traditional heritage co-existing with an appetite for the future.

A braided design - evoking the soft and silky feel of a petal and the luscious round curves of a coffee bean - becomes the base for different-sized bowls and a striking centrepiece with a tapered silhouette. The look and feel of this gentle, decorative design contrast beautifully with the smooth, silver-plated metal of the collection's napkin ring, metal cup, and candleholder.

This lovely contrast can also be seen on the dinner plate and dessert plate made of matte and shiny biscuit porcelain, which are encircled by two versions of the braided pattern.

Finally, two dignified, vertical vases orchestrate the meeting of porcelain and silver-plated metal, holding bouquets of flowers that enchant dinners where the table shines as brightly as the guests.
